New York Mets’ Jenrry Mejia Earns a Lifetime Ban from Baseball and a High Five From Pete Rose

The New York Metropolitans made a great run last in year in baseball and had a fantastic season. Part of the reason for thier success was their starting pitching and their bullpen. They were ranked as the 11th best bullpen in all of the majors. Unlucky for them they ran into the team with the 2nd best bullpen in all of baseball, the Kansas City Royals, in the World Series. A big part of the Met’s success was the relief pitching Jenrry Mejia.

Mejia had a fantastic end of the season putting up stats showing he was virtually unhittable. In 2015, Mejia only played in 7 games, but he posted a 0.00 ERA and 0.82 WHIP. Recently Mejia returned to the news placing him in elite (infamous) company with only Pete Rose. Mejia is now the only other living Major League Baseball player to receive a lifetime ban  besides Pete Rose. Congratulations idiot, you are’s Jagoff of the week.

One receives a lifetime ban from MLB from failing a drug test, 3 times! Yes, Jenrry Mejia has tested positive for PED’s, not once, not twice, but 3 separate times. And in a time frame of only 10 months! Even NFL’s Josh Gordon could not fail 3 tests that quickly. Mejia is the very first player to receive lifetime ban for failing 3 drug tests under the current drug policy.

In today’s world insurance premiums are rising, school tuition is rising, and jobs are extremely competitive. Mejia, had a guaranteed contract worth $2.4 million. His money was guaranteed.  I know a lot of individuals who would gladly accept this contract and be able to withhold from violating the MLB’s drug policy for a single year. Not to mention Mejia would still get paid even if he started pitching with his opposite arm, or if he tried to incorporate a cartwheel into his pitching delivery. His contract was guaranteed.  No matter what, he would get his 2.4 million dollars. Well unless he did that one little thing… Apparently the 80 day ban for the first failed test, and the full season ban for his second failed test were not enough to get his attention. He did that one little thing.

I suppose Jenrry Mejia can always call Pete Rose to see if he could pull up a chair and join Rose at some fold up table, at some casino in Vegas to sign autographs. Enjoy your lifetime ban gentlemen.
